In mid-November, the Toledo Public Schools Foundation's (TPSF) Board of Directors held a reception to 'reintroduce' the Foundation to the community, graduates and supporters of TPS.

Bowsher High School graduate Gaye Martin, the president of the board, joined Dr. Romules Durant, TPS CEO/superintendent and TPS Proud graduate of Waite High School, and Libbey High School graduate and Foundation board member Bob LaClair, in giving remarks at the reception at the Toledo Club.

The annual Purple and Gold Celebration, put on by the Morrison R. Waite High School Alumni Association, was held in late April. During the celebration, six outstanding alumni who have distinguished themselves in their chosen fields were honored. As David M. Yenrick, Class of 1974 and the chairman of the alumni association, explained, "We celebrate their achievements while recognizing that it is at Waite High School where they began their jouneys."

Here are biographies of the six inductees:

Members of the Bowsher High School Class of 1986 should mark their calendar for Saturday, July 23.

That's when the 30th Year Reunion will be held at ICE Restaurant in downtown Toledo.
