TOLEDO TECHNOLOGY ACADEMY WINS NATIONAL COMPETITION

Gary Thompson, director of Toledo Technology Academy, has announced that TTA won a gold medal at the SkillsUSA National competition for the robot the school designed and built for Principle Business Enterprises in Bowling Green, OH. Three recent TTA graduates, Zach Morris, Mike Orzechowski and Travis Hartley entered their creation in the manufacturing engineering category. The robot is used to move hospital socks from the workstation that applies non-slip rubber dots to the bottom of the footwear, into the ovens that heat the rubber material and adheres the dots to the stockings themselves.

The SkillsUSA National competition was a six-day event held in Kansas City, MO at the end of June.  Approximately 4,800 students from across the United States participated in the skills competition.
