First Day Of School for TPS 

Toledo Public School students are set to return to the classroom on Tuesday, August 28th. The first day of school will be a half-day for elementary school students, while middle school and high school students will attend a full day of classes.

TPS Superintendent John Foley plans to visit several schools on the first day of classes, including:

7 a.m. – TPS Transportation Garage – 5600 Hill Avenue
8 a.m. – the new McTigue Middle School – 5555 Nebraska Avenue
8:45 a.m. – the new Keyser Elementary School – 3900 Hill Avenue
9:30 a.m. – Pickett Elementary School – 1144 Blum Street
10:15 a.m. – the new Samuel M. Jones at Gunckel Park Middle School – 430 Nebraska Avenue
11 a.m. – Scott High School – 2400 Collingwood Blvd.

Mr. Foley will be available for interviews.

When classes resume on Tuesday, some students will be attending new, state-of-the art facilities.  TPS plans to open 10 new buildings on the first day of school, including:

          Burroughs Elementary  Byrnedale Middle School  Garfield Elementary
          Keyser Elementary   Leverette Middle School  McTigue Middle School
          Navarre Elementary   Rosa Parks Elementary  Stewart Academy for Girls
          Samuel M. Jones at Gunckel Park Middle School.
