UPCOMING TPS EVENTS
ARE YOU SMARTER THAN A LEVERETTE LION? Leverette Middle School students are hosting their own version of the popular television show, “Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?” The questions posed to the Leverette contestants will be formulated from the Ohio Achievement Tests in preparation for the upcoming testing that all 6th, 7th and 8th students are required to take each spring. Several local “celebrities” will be challenging the students, including Police Chief Mike Navarre and radio personality Charlie Mac. Following the competition, the school will host their annual Christmas Concert.

AN EVENING WITH THE QUEEN The students at Stewart Academy for Girls will welcome Nana Ahema I, the Queen Mother of Enyan Denkyira – a village of 5,000 in the central region of Ghana. During her visit, Queen Ahem will share a story of three girls who were born in Ghana and then raised in Italy. Current University of Toledo students who are from Ghana will also share stories from their homeland. Artwork and other crafts from Africa will be on display. Queen Ahema’s visit to Stewart Academy is the first of a three part-series on Africa that the Toledo Chapter of Links is sponsoring.

STUDENT CONCERT WHAT: The students from Walbridge Elementary School are presenting the “Walbridge Sharing Experience Concert” featuring the music of Hal Walker, a One-of-a-Kind, One-Man-Band. Mr. Walker has been working with the Walbridge students for the past several weeks on expanding their musical talent, knowledge and appreciation. Mr. Walker was an Artist in Residence at Walbridge Elementary through a grant from the Ohio Arts Council.
