TPS UPCOMING EVENTS

COMMUNITY FORUMS
The final two Community Forums, hosted by John Foley, Toledo Public Schools Superintendent, are scheduled for next week.  Mr. Foley has held community meetings during the past several weeks in an effort to bring parents and residents up-to-date about the Building for Success project, along with providing a financial overview of the district and sharing updates regarding academic plans for the future.  Each meeting begins at 6:30 p.m.

          Tuesday, December 4th at Start High School – 2100 Tremainsville
          Wednesday, December 5th at Byrnedale Middle School – 3635 Glendale

LATINO ART SHOW
The 13th annual Latino Junior High and High School Art Show will be on display at the South Branch Library (1736 Broadway) from December 4th through the 21st.  An opening reception is scheduled for Thursday, December 4th from 5 – 7 p.m.  Toledo Public Schools, the Sofia Quintero Arts & Culture Center and the Arts Council, Lake Erie West are sponsors of the show.

STEWART ACADEMY FOR GIRLS HOSTS PARENTS NIGHT
Stewart Academy for Girls welcomes U.S. Federal Magistrate Vernelis Armstrong as the guest speaker at their annual Parents Night.  Ms. Armstrong will present “Legal Issues Every Parent Should Understand that are Affecting Their Children.”  The Toledo Chapter of Links, Inc. is sponsoring this informational event. 

          WHEN:     Wednesday, December 5th from 5:30 – 7 p.m. 
          WHERE:  Stewart Academy for Girls – 707 Avondale

AN EVENING WITH SANTA
          WHEN: Thursday, December 6th from 5 – 7 p.m.
          WHERE:  Robinson Middle School – 1075 Horace

A family-friendly event – admission is $1 or a donation of a non-perishable food item.  Admission to the event includes a light dinner, Christmas-related activities for children and a picture with Santa.  Proceeds will be used to fund food baskets for families in the Robinson Middle School neighborhood.

ADULT & CONTINUING EDUCATION GRADUATION
Students from the ABLE-GED program, Nursing Aide program, Practical Nursing program and Barber Academy will graduate next Friday, December 7th at 5 p.m.  John Foley, TPS Superintendent, is the keynote speaker.
