BEVERLY ELEMENTARY PRINCIPAL ON TOP OF HER SCHOOL
Linda Meyers, principal of Beverly Elementary, made a deal with her students - raise $10,000 for the school’s annual Fun Walk and I’ll sit on the school’s rooftop for an afternoon. The students accepted the challenge - they not only met their goal, they exceeded it.
Being a woman of her word, Ms. Meyers is keeping her end of the deal; she will be hoisted to the roof of the school on Friday morning at 11 a.m. Ms. Meyers will stay perched on the roof until 1 p.m. waving and watching over her students during recess. The entire school will gather outside to cheer Ms. Meyers on as she is lifted to the roof. The school’s Fun Walk, which was held on October 19th, is one of the annual fund-raisers coordinated by the Beverly Parent-Teacher Organization. The money raised is used to purchase supplies for students, provide educational programming and to cover a portion of the cost to send 6th grade students to camp.
