Toledo Welcomes Columbus
 
The Toledo Public Schools’ Parent Congress is sponsoring an event designed to educate students, families and community members about the impact state government has on our community. Toledo Welcomes Columbus will demonstrate to local constituents how a political decision made at the state level regarding public education affects students and residents in Toledo.

Three state legislators from Toledo are scheduled to participate in this first-time event, they are: Senator Teresa Fedor, Representative Peter Ujvagi and Representative Edna Brown. A panel of TPS high school students will lead the discussions. Questions are expected to range from school funding, safety and standardized testing.

John Foley, TPS Superintendent, and members of the Board of Education are expected to attend.

WHEN:  Saturday, February 2, 2008 from 10 a.m. – noon
