Aniya Chambers-Brown, a freshman and Girl Scout/YWOE member at Waite High School, has been chosen to participate in a Cross Country Culinary Challenge, one of the Girl Scout Destination Programs.
Joyce Chan- Rhodes, Community Outreach Team Leader for the Girl Scouts of Western Ohio, writes, "Aniya attended our older girl fall weekend “Keepin it Real” at Camp Libbey and had learned about our Girl Scout Destination program in one of the workshops. Girl Scout Destinations are the ultimate adventure for individual girls ages 11 and older! Girls can travel from across the nation and globe with different trips every year. To participate in a Girl Scout Destination program, girls must identify which destination/trip interests them, then they have to submit an application, an essay, and 2 reference letters.
Aniya is so excited! She will make friends from all over the country as she travels with Girl Scouts from different states, see and learn new things that are inspiring, life-changing experiences and memories. The trip will cost approximately $3000. She is selling Girl Scout cookies to help fund her trip!
It’s great to see how far our partnership has come in benefiting our girls’ lives.
P.S. Please also note Cassie Herrmann, a student at Bowsher High School, has been accepted at a Space Camp Destination in Alabama."
Congratulations to Aniya! Here is an article about her and her upcoming trip: Aniya's great adventure
