OHIO MEANS JOBS WEBSITE

Toledo Public Schools students and their families concerned about the next step should check out the state's online database for jobs seekers,  OhioMeansJobs.com, described by some as a virtual career counselor. Users can build resumes, match their skills to available jobs, identify potential careers, learn what type of education is required to achieve the career of their choosing, and learn how much money a chosen career pays.

THE JONES LEADERSHIP ACADEMY

The Jones Leadership Academy, opening this fall in the former Samuel M. Jones @ Gunckel Park Elementary school at 430 Nebraska Ave., is a new kind of TPS school that will emphasize leadership and service. LAWSUIT REGARDING STUDENT INFORMATION

As part of a lawsuit related to funding for special education, a request has been made to the Ohio Department of Education for educational information regarding individual Ohio public schools. Here is a copy of the ruling: Notice to Parents. Those objecting to the disclosure of this information have until Sept. 12 to register an objection. That can be done by writing a letter to the judge telling him what you object to (details are included in this filing) and mailing the letter to: Clerk's Office: Judge Watson's Docket, US Courthouse, 85 Marconi Blvd., Columbus, Ohio 43215.
