The TPS Foundation is working to update records with Toledo Public Schools alumni contact information. Part of this process includes 92,000 postcards that were sent to high school graduates of TPS schools in an effort to gather names, addresses, phone numbers and other details such as class years.
Upon receiving the postcards in the mail, the Blade has reported that many TPS alumni have questioned whether the postcards are legitimate—and the answer is yes
Creating a TPS Alumni Directory
The TPS Foundation authorized a Texas-based company called Publishing Concepts (PCI) to contact graduates in an effort to update the TPS high school directories. The reputable company has been used by many TPS high schools in the past, so the Foundation felt PCI was a good fit for this districtwide initiative.
The purpose of collecting contact information is to enable better communication with graduates when promoting activities hosted by the Foundation and in the district. The Foundation hopes that the result of this directory update will be increased awareness and participation in alumni-focused events and fundraising efforts.
PCI will be sending out multiple postcards to addresses where alumni are last known to have listed, as well as attempt to contact graduates by email and phone. These postcards will contain a short message that is signed by Superintendent Romules Durant.
The only action graduates are asked to take is to call a toll-free number to verify the accuracy of data. The toll-free numbers for each high school are listed below. TPS expects to wrap up this effort in October.
