Members of the Toledo Technology Academy of Engineering Trailblazers club and National Honor Society hosted a Veterans Appreciation Lunch.
An estimated 50 veterans will be joining the students, for an opportunity for students to spend time with veterans and show their appreciation to those who have served our country.
Around a dozen local restaurants have donated food for the event.
Bowsher High School will hosted a Veterans Day program on in the military hallway on the first floor. As a Purple Star School designated by the State of Ohio, there will be names added to the school’s Wall of Honor featuring Bowsher graduates who have served in the armed forces.
Longfellow hosted two Veterans Day Programs to honor active military and Veterans. During the programs, representatives from The National Guard assisted with teaching students about the significance of the day, the third graders sang patriotic tunes, essay contest winners read their essays about Veterans, 1st and 2nd graders held banners in support of our Veterans, Start High School student Lola Hamilton played Taps on her trumpet, and 8th grade students Ta'Vion Toyer-Lanier, Alexis Shaffer, and Izayah Slaten led the program.
