Personal Safety Curriculum For 1st And 4th Graders On Youtube

Every year school, Toledo Public Schools counselors and school nurses provide the district's first and fourth grade students with a personal safety curriculum.

Since this is usually done in the spring - but cannot be done in person this year because of the school-ordered closures in the state - the district has partnered with the Family and Child Abuse Prevention Center (FCAPC) to offer a curriculum that meets or exceeds the state of Ohio's mandated personal safety program (O.R.C. 3313.60).

The lessons teach children skills and knowledge about keeping their bodies safe. The lessons are simple and interactive. Parents are the key in reinforcing personal safety for their children. There are two sets of curriculum - one is for first or second graders and the other is for third or fourth graders.
