BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA, ERIE SHORES COUNCIL
A Game with a Purpose
The Erie Shores Council, BSA, provides character-building programs and outdoor adventure to over 6,000 youth members in a 4-county area of Northwest Ohio. More than 2,000 trained adult volunteers meet regularly at nearby schools and community centers to provide services and deliver fun, educational activities. The BSA's leadership experience is open to boys ages 6-21, and High Adventure/Career Exploration programs for girls ages 14-21.
Key learning themes empower youth in: Service to Others, Lifelong Fitness, Civic Responsibility and Character Development. Headquartered at Camp Miakonda, in Toledo, our council is rich with history, including running the oldest camp in the state of Ohio and the oldest Scout building in the country. In addition to Camp Miakonda, we are home to Pioneer Scout Reservation. Both camps provide great outdoor adventures to more than 30,000 visitors annually.
