The odds were long when Ian Denner, a junior at the Toledo Technology Academy, joined more than 2,000 high school students in applying for a month-long camp to be held this summer at Apple's world headquarters in Cupertino, California.

But Ian beat those odds, learning recently that he is one of only two dozen students nationwide chosen for the Apple Engineering Technology Camp, which will be held from July 11 until August 5. The students -- identified as the next generation of innovators and possible future Apple engineers -- will get a chance to collaborate closely with Apple hardware engineers through a variety of hands-on workshops and roundtable discussions.
