Keeping students and staff members safe is the number one priority of Toledo Public Schools, so a number of safety summits are being
held in the month of September so parents, guardians and community members can learn about important safety-related initiatives.
A Safety Summit will be held in each of the district's six learning communities.
The initial presentation will be done by Diana Ruiz-Krause, the chief of the TPS Department of Public Safety, and other TPS administrators, and then there will be breakout sessions on such topics as A.L.I.C.E. (Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, and Evacuate); bully prevention; strategies for keeping kids safe and school bus safety.
The sessions are being held at the six traditional high schools so parents and guardians can go to the meeting in their learning community;
however, parents and guardians are invited to attend whatever session works best for their schedules. All summits will run from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
