What started as an animated movie is now a musical.

This weekend, high school students at Bowsher are bringing Shrek to the stage.

"We're trying to bring our own kind of taste on it," said Nick Perry, a High School Senior who played Shrek. "We don't want to be like the musical or the movie. We want to bring our own kind of flavor to the actual musical."

You'll see all the fairytale characters from the original movie, such as the Gingerbread Man, Dragon and Donkey.

The teenagers at Bowsher say they're up to the challenge of pulling off the show.

"There have been tears," says Senior Ava Witson who plays Princess Fiona. "There has been sweat and tears, but they're always there to support you. So, I think we're definitely ready for this weekend."

Shrek The Musical has one final performance at Bowsher. It's today, Sunday, March 26, 2017 at 2:00. All tickets are $10.00.
