Kristin Menhorn's kindergarten class at McTigue Elementary School honored the 2026 Winter Olympics with Olympic-themed activities! Students passed the torch while counting, ate a torch snack (Cheetos and ice cream cones), learned about the Olympic medals, colored the Olympic rings while reading the color words, completed independent-centered activities with Olympic themes, watched videos of many of the events (skeleton and snowboarding were the favorites), and ended the two weeks of learning with a reading hockey game where students had to read "red" words and CVC words to get a chance at shooting a goal. Every student earned a gold medal for participating!
