Toledo Public Schools is starting a program for qualified high school seniors to obtain the skills needed to secure a professional Commercial Driver’s License.
The new CDL Practice Pad is located next to Rogers High School and can accommodate CDL and Bus transportation training and practice.
2 semi tractors and 2 trailers have been purchased to assist with the training, and the classroom is ready and equipped.
There will be one or two classes per semester, with each class holding up to 5 students. This semester’s class includes three students.
Students will have 200 hours of training during a semester, with 56 hours in the classroom and 144 hours of range and road training.
TPS high school students who are 18 and have a valid driver’s license can inquire with their school counselor about applying for the CDL training program.
