On September 11 as our nation marked the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. Our current students know this day in history through classroom lessons and discussions, rather than from memory, Toledo Public Schools took this as a unique opportunity to shape their understanding of that day’s events.
To honor the 2,996 lives lost on September 11, 2001, and pay tribute to the heroes who responded, TPS held a district-wide day of unity: TPS Proud Unity Day – Operation Kindness.
- Students and staff are encouraged to wear red, white, and blue next Friday.
- Schools will also have the option of holding a moment of silence next Friday morning at 9:11 a.m. Additional information has been shared with schools about next Friday, including classroom resources and activities.
