Toledo Public Schools is re-launching the Golden Apple Card for Toledo residents over the age of 60 or for any retired TPS employees.
Senior citizens may go to the main office of one of the six comprehensive high schools - Bowsher, Rogers, Scott, Start, Waite and Woodward - during regular school hours and fill out a simple application.
Those people hoping to get a card should bring proof of residency – a driver’s license, state ID, and/or one other item with a mailing address on it. Once the application is filled out, the Golden Apple card will be issued. No photos will need to be taken for the card.
Golden Apple Club members will be admitted free of charge to all TPS home athletic events, except for all-star games, city championships, and state tournament events.
Fans are advised to call on or before the day of the scheduled event to make sure it is not sold out. When visitors arrive at the event, they will simply have to show their Golden Apple card at the door for admission.
Golden Apple Club members also will enjoy:
- Free or reduced admission to school plays and concerts
- Fifty percent tuition discounts on an available space basis for all Adult Education courses. (This discount is available to anyone age 55 and older).
