Robert Carson

Bob CarsonRobert Carson, born in 1929, was an All-State halfback and football co-captain at Waite High School.  He continued playing football at Purdue University as varsity quarterback, and then transferred to the University of Toledo, where he completed his last two years as co-quarterback for the team.

Carson graduated with a degree in counseling and educational administration. He spent nearly 60 years in education and community service holding many titles, including executive director of Pupil Service for TPS, which oversaw Special Education needs; executive director of the Lucas County Children's Service Board; superintendent of the Miami Children's Home, and director of development for Toledo Christian Schools.

Carson was also instrumental in Waite High School's Perpetuating the Dream campaign to renovate Mollenkopf Stadium in 2007.  He was inducted into the Waite High School Athletic Hall of Fame and the Toledo City Athletic Hall of Fame. Robert Carson passed away in 2016.
