Letter to the Community
09/13/2024
Today, the Ohio Department of Education released its annual report cards for public schools across Ohio. Toledo Public Schools is eager to show the successes we are seeing across our district. Overall, TPS earned 2.5 stars out of a possible 5 - this is the same ranking as the district had last year and is consistent with the other large urban school districts in Ohio. That said, the Board of Education believes this annual report gives a woefully incomplete picture of public education in Toledo and other districts across the state and that ODEW uses a very biased approach to evaluating school districts. That is why we are compelled to share our own story, our accomplishments, and the success of our students. We are proud of their work and appreciate the dedication of our staff.
