Students at Toledo Early College celebrated cultures from around the world during their annual International Festival. The event showcased different cultural elements, including food, music and art. History teacher Mona al-Hayani believed the festival helped encourage awareness and foster harmony and acceptance among the diverse student population.

Escuela SMART Academy Celebrates Dia del Nino

Staff, students, families and community partners converged on Escuela SMART Academy to celebrate Dia del Nino. The holiday is celebrated throughout Latin America as a day for kids to enjoy being kids. Student Recruitment Coordinator Stephanie Serda highlighted some of the day’s activities, including a performance by the school’s first student mariachi band. She praised the more than 60 volunteers who worked alongside community partners to make the celebration possible.

Mr. Crystal Ellis, who passed away Monday, (top center) was the first African American Superintendent of Toledo Public Schools. During his tenure, he set high standards and expectations for students and staff members. He was a friend and mentor to many. He saw the potential in every student and worked to help them become someone others liked and respected. He'll be truly missed, but his legend will live on across our district. Girls will get to run several pieces of equipment and meet our Apprenticeship instructors and other experienced members of the Operating Engineers. Eletronic Vehicle Center Groundbreaking
