UT 1930Dr. FloydOur last TPS Local History Lecture of the year will be Dr. Barbara Floyd presenting "The Miracle on Bancroft Street" in honor of UT's 150th anniversary.

Dr. Floyd will discuss how the University of Toledo's move to the Bancroft Street campus in 1931, which was made possible through the support of the citizens of Toledo, impacted not only the university, but also the city. Before that time, the university had been housed in several make-shift and inadequate buildings. The Bancroft Street campus and its Collegiate Gothic architecture gave the university a sense of permanence that had been lacking, and set the course for its development.

The free lecture will be held in the auditorium at Rogers High School at 7:00 PM on May 11, 2023.
