Bluegill are an important and abundant sport fish in the United States. They are also one of the most common species in Ohio and can be found in almost every body of water throughout the state. Larger fish are usually caught in late spring or early summer while they are spawning in large colonies near shore. Click to see a video of our Natural Science Students releasing nearly 250 of them.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports that a third of all alcohol-related teen driving fatalities happen during prom and graduation season between April and June. This event was as close to reality as it gets to demonstrate for our students what a crash is like. Hopefully they can take the experience with them for years to come.

YOUTH SUMMER BLAST PASS

The Youth Summer Blast Pass is intended to help youth aged from 6-19 find independence and allow them to learn how to travel throughout their city. The YSBP is good for unlimited rides on TARTA services – including fixed route buses, TARTA Flex microtransit and TARPS paratransit – during the summer months.
